Ice Work was incorporated in 1988 at a time when only one person was carving ice sculptures in the UK. A few people in France and other continental countries were making pieces in a small way.

Ice Work pioneered the use of moulded sculptures and can fairly claim to have popularised the current interest in sculptures not only in the UK but throughout Europe. Starting with moulded pieces and quickly adding hand carved and then machine cut. Moulded pieces from Ice Work are of a high standard and superior generally in design, accuracy and finish. However, by hand carving a wide range of items can be produced quickly so that both hand carved and moulded ice sculptures fit happily together. Machine cut combine the two elements and is particularly of use where large numbers of individual pieces are needed, for example where perhaps 500 sorbet dishes are required or 2000 shot glasses.

Production first started in a small warehouse in Bodiam, East Sussex and then about 1995 production was moved to our present base at Horsmonden in Kent. Deliveries are made throughout the UK and round Europe, all by frozen transport and these range from full truckloads weighing up to 22 tons to small individual table pieces. Ice Work is the largest producer of ice blocks for carving in Europe and possibly in the world. Production of up to 30,000 for the year 2008 is planned.

You will find this site is divided into four parts, each of which has its own photographs and details. Sculptures for hotels, event companies and home use. Ice Blocks for wholesale and larger users. Special Events showing some of the larger commissions. Showroom shows details of how you can see ice sculptures.
